On Saturday, December 18th from 1 - 3 pm, Motivated will once again be hosting their annual Holiday of Hope. The Holiday of Hope was created to be a blessing to families in need during the Christmas Season. Over the past years, Motivated has served well over 500 families and has donated toys to the Woodstock Family Center in Philadelphia.
Last year the event was held outside in partnership with Allen AME Church. It was a blessing to serve so many families. Free toys, new coats, gloves, hats, and food were distributed. Although it was cold outside, it did not stop families from coming and waiting patiently in line. Holiday music was played, pictures with Santa were taken, hot chocolate was served, and we received a visit by Senator Anthony Hardy Williams. It was truly a blessed day!
This year Tabernacle Lutheran Church has offered its facility to host the event. Thank you, Tabernacle!! The families will be able to come into the center, shop for what they need, receive hot cocoa to warm them up and cookies for the journey home.
What is still needed, you say? Well, Motivated is still looking for donations of new toys, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to be distributed free to families in need. As you know, Christmas can be a tough time for many families, and this is just one way that we can help ease the burdens with the help of the Lord and you. Join us in being a blessing this Christmas season. "Give and it shall be given to you" Luke 6:38.
