As we approach the end of the year, Motivated Community Resource Center reflects on a year filled with impactful initiatives, community support, and meaningful partnerships. Our mission to empower and uplift families has driven us to create opportunities, provide resources, and foster a stronger, more connected community. Here's a look back at some of our key events and accomplishments throughout the year:
January: 'It's All in The House' Event
We kicked off the year with the 'It's All in The House' event in partnership with Abiding Truth Ministries, generously sponsored by Burlington. This event provided clothing and essential household items to over 500 families, setting a strong foundation for a year of giving.
April - November: The Free Market Food Distribution
In collaboration with State Representative Rick Krajewski, we hosted The Free Market food distribution at Sherwood Park from April to November. Together, we served over 2000 families, ensuring access to nutritious food and vital resources.
May: Community Recognition and Spring into Health Fair
May was a month of celebration and wellness. Verna Aggie was honored with the prestigious 2025 Community Hero Award by Penn Center for Community Health Workers. Additionally, Motivated sponsored the Spring into Health Fair, bringing together over 30 vendors to provide free resources and giveaways to over 300 families. Thanks to generous donations from Nautica, Burlington, Children's Appeal, Marc Jacobs, and Delivering Goods, we offered free haircuts, food, clothing, and resources, enhancing the well-being of our community.
September: Annual Back to School Community Fair
Our annual Back to School Community Fair, with the help and support of the 5600 block of Cedar Avenue, was held this year right outside our doors. It was a resounding success, equipping students with the tools they need for a successful academic year. We distributed 300 backpacks from Hallee Atellman and essential school supplies from Ashley Furniture. We were thrilled to have participation from Eagles Eye Mobile, Commonwealth Charter Academy, and over 25 vendors, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
November: Thanksgiving Community Giveaway
In the spirit of gratitude, our Thanksgiving Community Giveaway served 800 families with turkeys and all the trimmings, ensuring a warm and festive holiday meal for each and every one
December: Holiday of Hope
We concluded the year with our Holiday of Hope event, which brought joy to over 350 families through the gift of toys, meals, clothing, coats, and food. This event was made possible through the collaboration and generosity of Philly Lift, Fruits of the Family Table, Abiding Truth Ministries, and Worldwide Ministries.
